Lake Forest Sailing is a U . S . Sailing accredited community sailing center . We specialize in youth sailing , and our curriculum includes everything from how-to-sail lessons for five-year-olds and up to coaching high school sailors in international racing . All our instructors are U . S . Sailing certified and trained in safety and instruction .
LFS has an impactful presence on the national sailing scene with our youth race teams , and we are proud of their many accomplishments . Although our primary sailing season is during the summer , our more experienced sailors train and compete in the Midwest during fall and spring and join the winter sailing circuit in Florida .
We provide opportunities to sailors of all ages and ability levels , from beginners first getting out onto the water to aspiring National Champions in dinghies and keelboats . Learn-to-sail camps & lessons for all ages , U . S . Sailing Adult Keelboat Certification , and paddleboard / kayak rentals offer ways to get out onto Lake Michigan and enjoy the water . Additionally , we offer U . S . Sailing Level III Optimist , Club 420 , Laser training & event coaching 365 days a year , and more advanced instruction in fiberglass repair , sail trim , tactics & theory . We also host the Lake Forest High School & Lake Forest Academy sailing teams in the Fall & Spring .
