Junior Scouts Football ( GRADES 5-8 )

Lake Forest Junior Scouts Football is a robust Football program , inclusive of Flag Football , 7 on 7 Football and Tackle Football . The system is intended to introduce kids to the game of Football at the Flag level culminating at the Tackle level , with aspirations of building an elite High School Football player . Regardless if a player wants to play high school Football at LFHS or not , our system will build life skills such as confidence , accountability , strength , character and leadership . Athletes will also develop important skills such as ; speed , strength , Football IQ , teamwork , agility and conditioning . The Lake Forest High School Football program and staff directly influence the training of our Coaching staff . That knowledge will be passed down directly to our Junior Scout players through conditioning , practices and game play . While Flag Football ( in the Fall ) is the ideal entry point for most players , the system is built to easily introduce players at any level . JUNIOR SCOUTS - TACKLE FOOTBALL
All of our 2022 teams will be playing in The Chicagoland Youth Football League ( TCYFL ). This league stresses player safety and Coaches / Parent / Player education . To ensure player safety , TCYFL adheres to strict weight classifications , player ages and then grades . Playing in TCYFL will provide game opportunities against communities that currently reside in the same Conference as LFHS . Please visit www . tcyfl . net for more information on their league structure , components and philosophies . To receive 20 % off of registration fees , register by June 1st at 4:30 pm to receive Early Bird ( EB ) pricing .
MANDATORY CONDITIONING : ALL players must go through 10 hours of league mandated conditioning before they can put pads on . We are not bound to a certain timeline and would like to be flexible with our players and parents , understanding that July and August are potentially used for vacations . Please communicate your schedules to our staff after you register so our Coaches are aware . With the aforementioned in mind , our Coaches emphasize the importance of team practices as early as possible and that can ’ t be accomplished until all players have been through the mandatory conditioning .
FULL EQUIPMENT : No player is able to practice with pads until the conditioning is complete . 1st games are usually scheduled for the weekend before Labor Day and it essential for our teams to be in pads and in their teams at least 3 weeks prior to their 1st game . The earlier we can get our teams forms , the earlier they can start practicing together , which will translate into more success for the players .
TEAM DIVISIONS : Registration permitting , Staff and Coaches will divide kids up into teams based on skill level , age and then weight . If a particular age group has enough kids , we will split kids into a Big 10 team , and a Pac 10 team . Each team will play against other teams with similar skill levels . In order for us to appropriately make teams , kids must be present as much as possible during the pre-season portion of the program and do their best to get through the conditioning as quickly as possible . Players are evaluated every day they attend practice and we can only truly evaluate if they ’ re present . Evaluations and team assignments will be meticulously conducted by LFRD Staff and Coaches .
