Bear with me as I reflect on 2020 for a bit … It was an incredible year filled with challenges and changes . This community stepped up and met them , adapted , and created its own summer experience utilizing all that Parks , Recreation , and Forestry had to offer . From Forest Park Beach to Deerpath Golf Course , Summer Day Camps , and then on through enjoyment of our walking trails and parks , we got outside and enjoyed time with our families .

Today , it ’ s with hope and optimism that I write to you about the summer of 2021 . It ’ s full steam ahead ! We are planning a host of fun activities , day camp experiences , and events .

We are re-introducing a Family Fun Pass ! Experience the long summer weekends in Lake Forest with three days of fun for the whole family ! Our Family Fun Pass is good for one 3-day ( Fri-Sat-Sun ) summer weekend of your choice in June and July for up to four family members !

The Family Fun Pass includes unlimited kayak and paddle board rentals at LF Beach , LF Fitness Center passes and classes , a Wildlife Discovery Center animal encounter , nine holes of golf with two carts at Deerpath Golf Course , and an art encounter at Stirling Hall Art Center .

If you want to get in the mood for summer , our Camp Guide Insert is the place to start ! Our camps have always been a community favorite and we take pride in our dedicated staff and all of our exciting offerings .

Concerts in the Square are back ! We ’ re planning a fantastic line-up of talent to fill our Thursday evenings with music , picnics , and family relaxation . We will also be offering three concerts at the beach this summer located on the lawn just south of the North Pavilion . Join us for summer evenings filled with good music and great company !

Lake Forest Sailing will host the US Sailing Upper Midwest Junior Olympic Sailing Festival June 25-27th .

The annual Fred Jackson Golf Tournament , hosted by The Friends of Lake Forest Park and Recreation Foundation , is scheduled for Friday , June 4th . This fundraiser supports recreation programming and services and other capital projects related to Parks and Recreation .

The Festival and Fireworks Celebration held on July 4th at Deerpath Park is the Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation ’ s biggest fundraiser of the year . Come join us for a night celebrating our country , enjoying family and friends , while listening to great music and seeing a spectacular fireworks display .

New this summer ! The Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation will be hosting the Lake Forest Music Festival on August 21st . And that ’ s just a start …

Dreaming of summer activities , beaches , sunshine , concerts , and festivals , so please , wear a face covering , wash your hands , and watch your distance so that summer 2021 can be all that it ’ s supposed to be !
