Sailing
OPTI RACE TEAM (10-15Y)
Lake Forest Sailing's Optimist Race Team is known for hard work and great success. Joining the race team is a commitment of time and effort. Parent
involvement is a must as the team travels frequently to regattas around the Midwest. The focus of the race team is all aspects of small boat racing and
training for top-level regional, national, and international events. On-shore components of boat maintenance, rules, tactics, and fitness will be a large
part of the race team this summer.

HALF SUMMER
420 SAILING (14-18Y)
420 Sailing combines our previous 420 1 & 420 Pipeline summer courses. The 420 is a double handed boat and we require sailors to be 14 years old
and big enough to handle to 420. Sailors who are too young or small for the 420 will not be able to handle the boat properly or safely. If you are not
sure if your sailor is big enough to enjoy their time in the 420 please call the sailing office. Newer sailors will begin as the crew and more experienced
sailors will begin as skipper. The goal of this program is to get kids excited and experienced enough to join the scholastic race teams in the Fall & Spring
and to become competent double handed sailors.
