Fall Season is upon us and there is an abundance of activities , projects , programs , events and fun to be had throughout our community sponsored by the Parks , Recreation and Forestry Department and our Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation .

Your family will find everything from our regular programming from the Wildlife Discovery Center Beach Camp-out to 7 on 7 Flag Football to the Halloween Tricks and Treats party for the young ones and the Haunted Trail for those ages 12 + and on to Fall Sailing , Youth Basketball , and Hike and Create at Stirling Hall . Lake Forest Parks , Recreation , and Forestry Department is hosting an event or program for every interest and age group .

Improvements to Veterans Park , located at the corner of Deerpath and Greenbay Roads , will begin this year with an estimated ribbon-cutting in 2022 . Plans for this park include a Veterans Memorial

GO Lake Forest in collaboration with GO Lake County is an initiative to improve the health of Lake County Residents by promoting the simple act of walking . The Parks , Recreation and Forestry Department will be hosting a Cemetery Walk and Tour and a Forest Park Nature Walk this season . Bring your family and walk with us ! Details can be found on page 7 of this brochure .

The Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation supports your parks and recreation programs and services through fundraising events hosted throughout the year . We are wrapping up summer and kicking off fall with the First Annual Lake Forest Music Festival to be held on August 21 , 2021 in the parking lot behind City Hall . It will include great music , food and beverages , children ’ s activities , and much more . Additionally , The Friends also sponsor the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and the event is expected to return to Market Square this year . Please see page 35 for details on The Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation and their support of our programming and facilities .

Clear blue skies , crunching leaves , and crisp air are a terrific background for our programs , special events , and community activities .
