SUMMER SAILING EXTENSION ( 8-12Y ) Had too much fun sailing this summer ? Summer Sailing Extension ( SSE ) is open only to those sailors who sailed in Pram 1 or Pram 2 with LFS Summer of 2021 . The goal of SSE is to provide more time on the water and exposure to other boats such as 420s and keel boats . Sailors will primarily use our Sail Cubes and continue honing their skills . All you need is your prior sailing experience and your PFD .

FALL OPTI RACE TEAM ( 8-13Y ) Our Fall Opti Race Team is open to sailors who have previously sailed in Optis and have sailed in at least one Green Fleet Regatta before . A limited number of Optimists are available . LFS owned optis will go first to sailors continuing on from our Summer Green Fleet team . Red / White / Blue level sailors must provide their own boat and equipment . The team will travel to regional regattas which often requires parent ability to transport their sailor ’ s Opti . More gear is required than summer racing , primarily clothing suited for cooler temperature such as spray gear , gloves and warmer under layers .

FALL 420 RACE TEAM ( GRADES 8-12 ) Lake Forest Sailing has a strong tradition of being of the best scholastic programs in the Midwest , this is your chance to be a part of it ! Sailors should have prior sailing experience and will be required to invest in proper gear ; PFDs , spray gear , sailing boots , warm under layers . The teams travel extensively within our neighboring states on most weekends . The teams compete under the Interscholastic Sailing Association - Midwest organization . The Fall 420 Scholastic Race Team is only open to sailors at Lake Forest High School or Lake Forest Academy .
