Fascinating Women’s and Men’s Group Programs The September Women’s Luncheon features Professor Sara Stephens of “Authors Come to Life” for a stylish portrayal of author Beatrix Potter, who penned the chil- dren’s story The Tale of Peter Rabbit along with many other beloved childhood classics. Learn more in this fascinating program about Miss Potter, conservationist, artist, author and a woman ahead of her time. Also in September, we host the annual Dickinson Hall membership meeting at 1 pm on Tuesday, September 26. On September 26, the League of Women Voters will be on site at Dickinson Hall between 10 am–1 pm to en- roll voters for National Voter Registration Day. Join us as we take a look at the latest styles for fall and winter in designer clothing, accessories and more. We Have Great Parties In September, we will bid a fond farewell to summer and carefree days on the beach with our first ever Frank Sinatra Beach P arty, featuring live music by a Sinatra performer, Steve Jacobs and a delicious Italian-style dinner (more info on p.10). We are delighted to welcome renowned pianist Saori Chiba in September for a concert featuring two opera singers with piano accompaniment. The program will feature well-known arias by Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, and some Broadway songs that everyone will recognize. October wouldn’t be the same without Dickinson Hall’s an- nual and much-anticipated Oktoberfest celebration. Come join us for Bavarian music performed by Alpine Thunder, ice- cold German beer and authentic German fare. Prost! We honor our veterans at the traditional Veterans Breakfast in November. Veterans and Service Personnel of any age are invited to be our guests for a delicious breakfast celebrating the dedication and selflessness of all who served our country in times of need. Aimed at seniors and their adult children, this free monthly program covers a wide array of topics pertinent to the aging population. If you are age 50+ and living alone, Janet offers the Home Alone Group, a monthly opportunity to share the triumphs and challenges of life with a group of friendly fellow travelers.
