A classic Old-Fashioned cocktail is an easy formula , but the proportions — and the care taken to combine the ingredients — make all the difference .
Bartender Dan Vincent at 230 Forest Avenue has updated the recipe for this traditional libation . He uses Bulleit bourbon to infuse a refreshed flavor and notes that Bulleit also makes a rye whiskey for a spicy kick . Orange-flavored bitters add a little citrus zest and Italian Luxardo natural cherries replace the typical red-dyed maraschinos as a garnish . For a sweet finish , Dan adds a spoonful
