Screen shades address the quality of light control and privacy in a slightly different manner . In screen fabrics , the view-through and light control are a function of the density of the weave . The tighter the weave the lower the openness factor to block more sun for more privacy but will also allow less view through . The higher the openness , the higher level of visibility and viewthrough .
Note : Openness and color combined offer different levels of light control , privacy , glare resistance , and visibility . White fabric can make a view blurred , while black fabric tends to make the view more crisp .
