Research Methodology
Survey data was captured by Malaysian and non-Malaysian employees, full and part time
employment, as well as gender. The reference month used for the compilation of monthly data
is June 2016 while annual data is based on 2015.
Sampling for this survey was conducted with the assistance from the Department of Statistics
Malaysia (DOSM) by using a stratified sampling methodology, with stratification by state, industry
and employment size (based on SMECorp definition).
Survey fieldwork was carried out from 12th September to 30th December 2016. The target
establishments were given the option of completing the survey via online, hard copy and
telephone. There was a total of n=685 respondents at the end of the fieldwork period.
The research findings reported here are based on unweighted data.
