use is required by 2015/2016. It replaces the NFPA/RTK (red/yellow/blue) labeling method.

Full OSHA compliance required by 2015/2016
GHS (short for Globally Harmonized System) is an international
system for hazard communication that is used to identify
chemicals and the risks they may present. OSHA has adopted
this system to facilitate the standardization of chemical labels,
as GHS is already being used by the rest of the world.
OSHA has required that all employers train their employees
on GHS labeling practices by December 2013, and that all
companies must label their chemicals with GHS-compliant
labels by June 2016 (June 2015 for chemical manufacturers,
distributors, or importers).
