Introduction to the LIMS & Other Information Systems :

This course provides an overview of the laboratory information management system ( LIMS ) and other information systems playing a key role in laboratory informatics . Learners explore LIMS functionality , the role of the LIMS in interoperability , various regulations and standards and the steps involved in LIMS implementation .

Public Health Informatics Community

This online gathering place on APHL ’ s ColLABorate platform is part of APHL ’ s ongoing effort to help coordinate informatics strategies , needs , challenges and solutions across the public health landscape . Members can engage one another in discussions , pose questions , seek and provide guidance , explore resources , and learn of other engagement opportunities like events , trainings , workgroups , presentations and conferences .

Interoperability Forum

This quarterly convening of the public health laboratory informatics community features demonstrations and presentations from member laboratories on their solutions to common challenges . This opportunity for laboratories to share their successes and stories also provides space for participants to ask questions , connect and form relationships . Topics have included systems implemented to respond to the high volume of COVID-19 testing and web portals for ETOR and data exchange .
