Airline travel is no easy chore these days . It ’ s tougher now because of wait times and airport security . Not too many years ago it was a piece of cake . I recall when my wife , Franca , and I went to Zurich , Switzerland . It was a quick zip at Hopkins . We joined Westlake Glass Garden restaurant entrepreneur Emil Kokolari and the TV 8p . m . Magazine crew on the weeklong trip that included a stay at the Movenpick Hotel and a quick run across the border to Lake Como in Italy . We were serenaded by strolling musicians in Chiasso .

Today airline travel is an adventure with different data on airport security and waits times . A Travel Leaders group who surveyed 3,400 Americans revealed that traveler satisfaction has dropped to about 64 % and the number of travelers dissatisfied with airport security has increased to about 17 %.

Overall , most Americans polled expressed that they were okay with the amount of time it takes to pass through airport security . Travel Leaders Group works closely with the Department of Homeland Security in helping travel agents in advising customers on ways to decrease individual wait times .

When asked what security measures would consumers most like to eliminate , the top response was removing shoes . The survey shows travelers would not eliminate security measures like liquids in carry-on baggage ( 17.5 %), extensive pat down ( 11 %) and laptop removal ( 7.5 %).
