Les Galeries nationales du Grand Palais accueillent une exposition inédite des œuvres du célèbre artiste Katsushika Hokusai. Connu du monde entier notamment pour son estampe intitulée « Sous la grande vague au
large de la côte à Kanagawa », Hokusai est l’une des figures majeures de l’art japonais.
Le Grand Palais a rassemblé plus de 500 pièces exceptionnelles, dont des séries d’estampes, des livres, des
peintures mais aussi de nombreux dessins préparatoires pour retracer les six périodes de l’artiste surnommé
« Le Fou de dessin ». Pour garantir la b onne conservation des œuvres les plus fragiles, le musée suspendra
l’exposition du 20 novembre au 1er décembre 2014 afin de remplacer une centaine d’œuvres. I Hokusai,

exhibition of the works of the famous artist Katsushika Hokusai, « The Madman of painting ». Known throughout the world especially for his print entitled Under the great wave off the Kanagawa coast, Hokusai is one
of the major Japanese artists. The Grand Palais gathered over 500 exceptional pieces, including print series,
books, paintings but also numerous preparatory drawings in order to retrace the six periods of the artist’s
career. The museum will suspend the exhibition from November 20th to December 1st 2014 so as to ensure
that the most fragile works are properly preserved. A hundred art pieces will be replaced. I
