La Biennale de Venise
La 55ème exposition internationale d’Art Contemporain se tient du 1er juin au 24 novembre 2013 ; commissaire
Massimiliano Gioni. Entre les Giardini et l’Arsenal, la France et l’Allemagne échangent leurs pavillons. L’artiste
albanais Anri Sala représente la France. Le Vatican fait son entrée à la Biennale auprès des pavillons d’Argentine
et des Emirats Arabes Unis. Akram Zaatari portera l’étendard de l’art contemporain libanais et Ai Weiwei, le
dissident chinois ainsi que trois autres artistes internationaux représentent
le pavillon allemand. Pour reprendre Paolo Barrata, président de la Biennale :

The 55th International Exhibition of Contemporary Art is open to the public
from 1 June to 24 November 2013 at the Giardini, the Arsenale, and in various
venues around the city of Venice, titled The Encyclopedic Palace and curated
by Massimiliano Gioni. France and Germany exchange their pavilions between
the Giardini and the Arsenale. France is represented by Albanian artist Anri
Sala. The Vatican made its debut at the Biennale with Argentina and the United
Arab Emirates. The banner of Lebanese contemporary art will be carried by
Akram Zaatari, whereas Ai Weiwei, the Chinese dissident along with three other
international artists will represent the German pavilion. According to Barrata
Paolo, President of the Biennale: “The Venice Biennale is where it should be.” I

Musée des beaux arts d’Alger
Adossé à la falaise, surplombant le jardin d’Essai, le musée national des beaux arts offre une vue saisissante
sur la baie d’Alger. Inauguré en 1930, construit par l’architecte algérois Paul Guion, il recèle une incroyable
collection de 8000 oeuvres, où on y croise Chassériau, Delacroix, Courbet, Matisse, mais aussi les pionniers
de la peinture moderne algérienne, Ranem, Hemche ou Khadda. Le musée aborde aujourd’hui une nouvelle
phase de son développement avec l’aide et le support de l’Association des musées méconnus de la méditerranée (AMMed), créée en 2010 par la journaliste franco-tunisienne Sonia Mabrouk et le financier Marc Ladreit
de Lacharrière. Après la maison du Baron d’Erlanger (palais Ennejma Ezzahra) à Sidi Bou Said en Tunisie, et le
musée archéologique de Thessalonique en Grèce, le conseil scientifique de l’association, présidé par le président-directeur du Louvre, Henri Loyrette, a choisi le musée d’Alger. I Algiers, the Museum of Fine Arts
Backed by the cliff overlooking the Trial garden, the National Museum of Fine Arts offers a breathtaking view
over the bay of Algiers. Opened in 1930, designed by architect Paul Guion, it contains an incredible collection
of works of art, where one can admire not only Chassériau, Delacroix, Courbet, Matisse, but also the pioneers
of modern Algerian painting, Ranem, Hemche or Khadda. The museum is now entering a new development
phase with the support and help of the Association of Unknown Museums in the Mediterranean, created in
2010 by the Franco-Tunisian journalist Sonia Mabrouk and financial Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière. After the
house of Baron d’Erlanger (Ennejma Ezzahra Palace) in Sidi Bou Said in Tunisia, and the archeological museum of Thessaloniki in Gr eece, the scientific council of the Association, chaired by the Chief Executive of the
Louvre Museum, Henri Loyrette, has chosen the Museum of Algiers. I
