In the Sahara, at the heart of the Grand Erg
Oriental, 100 km South of Douz, lies Timbaine,
or “the mountain visible from afar” in Berber,
where Camp Mars landed.
Fifty-two white canvas tents comfortably make
up this eco-friendly and nomad accommodation, to the delight of desert lovers seeking authentic sensations. Double or single beds, soft
Bedouin blankets for chilly nights, Mergoums
(Berber carpet), candlesticks, copper showers
and hand basins to save water, dry toilets with
sawdust…
Everything is designed to preserve nature. It is
a heavenly stop for backpackers.
Simple but authentic cuisine is prepared before
your eyes and served at the foot of a dune or
under a large tent, serving as a restaurant.
Lucky are those who attend the “Music and
Silence in the Sahara” events, where artists
and musicians meet for daily acoustic performances in harmony with the landscape. At
Camp Mars, moments suspended in time;
dunes dancing as far as the eyes can see;
stars standing out like nowhere else on Earth;
pristine, wild, and captivating nature…

هناك انتصب مخ ّيم املريخ. اثنان و خمسون خيمة من
القامش األبيض يتألف منها بكل يرس، هذا املأوى البدوي
و املراعي لرشوط املحافظة عىل البيئة، مبا يسعد عشاق
الصحراء الباحثني عن األحاسيس األصيلة : أرسة مضاعفة

أو أحادية و أغطية بدوية ل ّينة لليال باردة، و مراقيم
(زرايب بربرية)، و شمعدانات، و أدواش و أوان لغسل
اليدين من نحاس لالقتصاد يف استهالك املاء النَادر يف
هذه الربوع، و بيوت خالء ال يسيل فيها املاء، كل يشء قد

وضع يف نطاق املحافظة عىل الطبيعة. إنها محطة اسرتاحة
