Du 09 au 11 mai s’est déroulée la deuxième édition d’un
événement particulier, JAOU Tunis. Organisée par la
Fondation Kamel Lazaar, JAOU Tunis s’est imposé comme
« la première plateforme tunisienne pour l’art du Maghreb
et du Moyen-Orient. »

’événement a pour but de promouvoir la scène culturelle et
artistique tunisienne, en proposant divers colloques animés
par des intervenants locaux et internationaux.
Artistes, collectionneurs, galeristes, spécialistes et
théoriciens de l’art se sont donc rencontrés cette année au
Bardo pour analyser et comprendre leur rôle mais aussi leur
responsabilité éducative pour le développement de la culture
tunisienne à l’échelle nationale.
La Fondation Kamel Lazaar a ainsi rassemblé le samedi 10 mai plusieurs acteurs de la scène culturelle internationale et tunisienne autour
de tables rondes sur la thématique « Recommandations pour les futures
institutions ». Les discussions ont été animées par des intervenants de la
scène artistique tunisienne et internationale, tels que Moez Safta (Institut
supérieur des Beaux-Arts de Tunis), Marie-Monique Steckel (Institut Français, Alliance Française, New York),
Nadia Zouari (artiste et journaliste) et Alia Hamza (journaliste).
JAOU Tunis s’est poursuivi le dimanche 11 mai par une tournée des galeries de la banlieue nord de Tunis, avec
une totalité de cinq galeries participantes à La Marsa et à Sidi Bou Saïd. I

From May 9th to 11th took place the second edition of a
special event, JAOU Tunis. Organized by the Kamel Lazaar
Foundation, JAOU Tunis has established itself as « the first
Tunisian platform for North African and Middle-Eastern art ».

he event is designed to promote the cultural and artistic Tunisian scene, by presenting
various seminars conducted by local and international stakeholders.
Artists, collectors, gallery owners, specialists and art theorists have met in Le Bardo this year
to analyze and understand their role as well as their educational responsability for the
development of the Tunisian culture on a national level. The Kamel Lazaar Foundation has
therefore gathered on Saturday May 10th several actors of the international and Tunisian
cultural scene at round tables on the theme « Recommandations for the future institutions ».
The discussions were moderated by stakeholders of the Tunisian and international artistic scene such as
Moez Safta (Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Tunis), Marie-Monique Steckel (French Institute, French Alliance,
New York), Nadia Zouari (artist and journalist) and Alia Hamza (journalist).
