Il était une fois l’Orient Express

L’Institut du Monde Arabe, en partenariat avec la SNCF, propose une exposition exceptionnelle consacrée à
l’Orient Express. Les visiteurs ont le privilège rare de commencer leur parcours sur un quai de gare reconstitué,
avant de pouvoir monter à bord d’une reproduction de la locomotive, de trois wagons ainsi que d’un wagonrestaurant de l’Orient Express. L’évènement se poursuit dans les salles d’exposition où sont disposés sur une
surface de 800 m² affiches, menus, vaisselles, valises et meubles de collection retraçant l’univers fantastique
du fameux train de luxe. De nombreux écrits, œuvres d’art et films réalisés par Gilles Gauthier et Eric Darmon
évoquent également la manière dont l’Orient Express a aboli les frontières, rapprochant ainsi deux mondes,
l’Orient et l’Occident. I Once upon a time, the Orient Express, from April 4th to August 31th 2014. The Arab
World Institute in partnership with the SNCF offers an exceptional exhibition dedicated to the Orient Express.
Visitors have the rare privileged to start their course on a recreated station platform. Then, they get on a replica of a locomotive with three train cars and an Orient Express wagon-restaurant. The event continues in the
exhibition rooms where, on a 800 m2 surface, are displayed menus, dishes, luggages and collectible furniture
retracing the fantastic universe of the famous deluxe train. Numerous writings, works of art and films made
by Gilles Gauthier and Eric Darmon evoke how the Orient Express abolished borders, bringing two worlds
together, the East and the West. I

تضم ملصقات، وقوائم طعام، وأواين املائدة وحقائب السفر وأثاث ذو ذوق رفيع تفتح كلها نافذة الخيال وتعيدنا إىل العامل الرائع
