Amine
Boussoffara
Tunisian photographer and sculptor with
undeniable talents, Amine Boussoffara
was born in 1974 in Mahdia, where he
spent most of his childhood. His first
images are published while he is a member
of the Mahdia Youth Centre Photo Club in
1986. Between 1991 and 1995, he begins
his career as a photographer, working
in photo labs during summertime and
reading magazines such as Chasseur
d’image (Image hunter), Polka and Beaux
Arts. Since then, he continues to feed
his passion for photography through
various personal activities. Amine is a fan
of black and white art photographs, life
scenes and close-ups, he is in love with
Tunisia. He leaves during the nineties for
the cities of Seliana, Jendouba and Tunis
and gets inspiration from the everday
lives of anonymous Tunisian people. This
overview of his country will indubitably
influence over twenty years of his career.
Fascinated by men and their ability to
shape space, the artist is curious about
local environments, customs, culture and
above all architecture. He often pays tribute
to the country’s architecture through
unique, poetic and intense pictures.
