Le Mobilier National donne carte
blanche à Pierre et Gilles pour leur
participation à l’exposition intitulée
Les Gobelins au Siècle des Lumières.
À cette occasion, le couple d’artistes a
réalisé une installation autour de leur
création, un portrait de Zahia Dehar.
L’exposition qui se tient à la Galerie
des Gobelins met en avant le rayonnement de la Manufacture royale au
cours du XVIIIème siècle, portée au
sommet grâce aux progrès techniques
qui fit d’elle la première manufacture
d’Europe en matière de tapisseries.
Une trentaine de tapisseries dont
l’Ancien Testament d’Antoine Coypel,
ainsi qu’une quarantaine de cartons
peints et d’esquisses seront exposées. I

Mobilier National gives carte blanche
to Pierre and Gilles for their
participation in the exhibition entitled
The Goblins in the 18th-century Age
of Enlightenment. On this occasion,
the two artists made an art installation
around their creation, a portrait of
Zahia Dehar.
At the Galerie des Gobelins, from April 8th
to October 5th 2014, the exhibition
highlights the successful outreach of
the royal Manufactory during the 18th century. When it comes to tapestries, it was the first manufactory in
Europe, thanks to the technical progress.
About thirty tapestries including the Old Testament by Antoine Coypel, as well as about fourty painted cartoons and sketches will be displayed. I
