Le Barbican Art Gallery consacre une exposition aux créations du styliste et grand couturier Jean Paul Gaultier. Surnommé par les
médias d’ « enfant terrible de la mode », le
créateur a bouleversé les codes de la mode
des 35 dernières années en gommant les
frontières entre cultures et, surtout, en redéfinissant l’androgynie.
Cette exposition, mise en scène de façon
théâtrale, réunit plus de 140 créations de
haute couture et prêt à porter, des année
1970 à nos jours. I The Fashion World of
Jean Paul Gaultier, from the sidewalk
to the catwalk. From April 9th to August
25th 2014, the Barbican Art Gallery is devoting
an exhibition to the creations of the stylist
and great couturier Jean Paul Gaultier.
Nicknamed the « terrible child of fashion »
by the medias, the creator has subverted
the fashion codes over the last 35 years by
erasing the boundaries between cultures
and by redefining the idea of androgyny.
This theatrically-staged exhibition brings
together more than 140 cutting-edge
couture and ready-to-wear garments from
the 1970s to the present day. I
