Stue offre un plongeon dans l’Histoire de la haute sphère berlinoise d’entre-deux-
guerres. L’hôtel 5 étoiles situé en plein cœur de Berlin a su préserver l’architecture
originelle du prestigieux édifice malgré les nombreuses destructions subies par la capitale
allemande tout en intégrant une esthétique très contemporaine. Mobilier de grands
designers et décoration audacieuse se mêlent harmonieusement aux vieilles pierres
et au style classique danois du Das Stue. D’impressionnantes sculptures d’animaux
sont disséminées dans les parties communes et font écho au jardin zoologique situé à
proximité du Das Stue.
Les 59 chambres et 19 suites dont dispose l’hôtel allient ambiance rétro chic et confort.
Toutes sont pourvues de larges fenêtres panoramiques s’ouvrant sur les différents
espaces du jardin zoologique et ses pensionnaires. Conçues pour offrir une expérience

Das Stue has been a staple of
the Berlin hotel industry since
opening in 2009 as one of the
city’s first design hotels. A grand
monument to the 20th Century
adapted for the modern day, it sits
in the very heart of Germany’s
capital, taking pride of place
between the Tiergarten park and
Landwehr canal. Once, its building
housed the Danish embassy. Now
it welcomes guests from all
around the world into tastefully

he entrance hallway, which features a showpiece crocodile sculpture and gorgeous restored
staircase, leads through to the reception area, lounge and bar, and restaurants. The interiors,
by Patricia Urquiola, range from a comfortable and stylish pastel-shade mix of sofas and
chairs to the more neutral tones of the Casual restaurant. A small but pleasant outdoor dining terrace
rather cutely abuts the Ostrich enclosure of the neighbouring Zoo. There are several extra working/
lounging areas like the first-floor library.
Das Stue’s 59 guest rooms and 19 suites have prices ranging from business standard to extravagant
(justifiably so), with window views of neighbouring Tiergarten and the popular Berlin Zoo. Spacious
and comfortable rooms on offer no matter the size of your purse or wallet, the rooms have a
boutique feel despite the size of the hot. The staff at the hotel, its on-site spa, and in-house Michelin-
starred restaurant, Cinco, are far and away a capable, friendly crew to boot—a medley of European
languages between them, ensuring any and all stays are a pleasure. I
