L’univers de Giorgio de Chirico, l’un des fondateurs du mouvement
de la peinture métaphysique, investit la salle du Palazzo Reale à
l’occasion d’une exposition anthologique organisée par Luca
Massimo Barbero. Son style unique et l’évolution de sa carrière
artistique y sont dévoilés à la lumière d’une nouvelle interprétation de
certaines de ses œuvres les plus importantes. Du début des années
1920 aux années 1970 pendant lesquelles de Chirico peignit
la fameuse Fontaine des bains mystérieux, l’exposition revient sur
l’univers créatif de l’artiste italien, un monde extraordinaire suspendu

Giorgio de Chirico, one of the masters of Italian metaphysical art movement,
takes the stage of Palazzo Reale with an anthological exhibition curated by Luca
Massimo Barbero. All the development of his artistic career, as well of its iconic
style is revealed by a collection of some of his most significant paintings interpreted
under a brand-new light. Through the display, guests have the chance to discover
and analyze the painter’s production from the early 1920s up to the Mysterious
Baths dating back to the 1970s, which reflect the most intimate expression of his
unconscious.
Thanks to an ideal journey into De Chirico’s history and production, visitors can
enjoy the full creative world of the artist, suspended between dreams and reality. I
