récemment
disparu.
Organisée
en
collaboration avec Azzedine
Alaïa lui-même, l’exposition
retrace sa carrière, du début des
années 1980 à ses dernières
créations. Cette rétrospective
présente plus de 60 modèles du
grand couturier dont la fameuse
robe zippée, la ceinture corset et
la robe bandage, mis spécialement
en val eur par les interventions
architecturales des artistes et
designers de renom, à l’instar
de Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec,
Konstantin Grcic, Marc Newson,
Kris Ruhs et Tatiana Trouvé.
Azzedine Alaïa : Le Couturier
est la première exposition
d’Azzedine Alaïa au Royaume-
Uni et propose une immersion
dans la vie de l’un des créateurs
de mode les plus respectés de l’histoire. Son approche personnelle,
le rapport particulier qu’il a établi avec ses muses, modèles, clients et
amis ainsi que sa quête de la perfection participent à la création de la
légende d’Azzedine Alaïa, un grand couturier sans égal.I

Design Museum pays tribute to the late Tunisian-French couturier. Conceived and
co-curated with Monsieur Alaïa before his death, the exhibition charts his incredible
journey spanning the early 1980s to his most recent collection, his nonconformist
nature and his infectious energy for fashion, friendship and the female body.
This retrospective showcases more than sixty garments of the rebellious designer
including the famous zipped dress, the corset belt and the bandage dress, specially
highlighted by the architectural interventions of artists and renowned designers,
namely Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Konstantin Grcic, Marc Newson, Kris Ruhs and
Tatiana Trouvé.
