INTERFERENCE
From 6 to 9 September, the Medina of Tunis will be for four nights home to a large-scale exhibition held by INTERFERENCE. During this second edition, artists from around the world will occupy the Medina to create an interaction between contemporary art and cultural heritage.
Building on the success of September 2016 first edition, the Medina of Tunis will house INTERFÉRENCE for a second more committed session. INTERFERENCE project- new experience based on the interaction between light( but also the absence of light), contemporary art and architectural heritage- aims to make artistic expression more accessible and raise crucial social and cultural issues. Public spaces, private apartments, prestigious buildings and abandoned sites will house the facilities of thirty Tunisian and foreign artists, inviting visitors to discover the architectural beauty of the Medina by night- a UNESCO World Heritage site – through uncommon works. Sonia Kallel, Cecilia Ackermann, Wadi Mhiri, Sara Foerster, Liliya Ben Romdhane, Tom Groll, Karim Jabberi, Kuno Seltmann, Mouna Jemal Siala, Elene Vertikova, Wadi Mhiri, Anna Rosa Rupp, Houda Ghorbel- among many others- will bring new vision of this cultural heritage, steeped in history.
