Les Impressionnistes à Londres. Artistes en exil, 1870-1904
Du 21 juin au 14 octobre 2018 Le Tate Britain rassemble les œuvres des plus grands peintres Impressionnistes Français du XIXème siècle dans une exposition unique en son genre. Alors que la France est en proie aux conflits entre les années 1870 et 1904, de nombreux artistes Français traversent la Manche pour trouver refuge dans la capitale britannique. Cette immigration composée de grands maîtres tels que Pissaro, Monet, Tissot et Daubigny va faire souffler un vent de modernité sur la scène artistique londonienne en même temps qu’ elle influencera leur peinture. L’ exposition « Les Impressionnistes à Londres » offre une immersion dans ce contexte particulier à travers l’ analyse des toiles impressionnistes les plus célèbres et de témoignages sonores. The EY Exhibition: Impressionists in London, French Artists in Exile( 1870 – 1904)
21 June – 14 Oct 2018 Tate Britain brings together the works of the greatest French Impressionist painters of the nineteenth century in a unique exhibition. In the 1870s, France was devastated by the Franco-Prussian war and insurrection in Paris, driving artists like Pissaro, Monet, Tissot and Daubigny, and their compatriots, to seek refuge across the Channel. Their experiences in London and the friendships that developed not only influenced their own work but also contributed to the British art scene. The“ Impressionists in London” exhibition maps the connections between French and British artists through the analysis of the most famous impressionist paintings and sound testimonies..
