Eugène Beaudouin et Marcel Lods, architectes d’ avant-garde
Du 8 novembre 2017 au 24 juin 2018 Le Musée d’ histoire urbaine et sociale de Suresnes met sous le feu des projecteurs le duo d’ architectes pionniers qui a marqué l’ entre deux guerres. Novateurs dans le domaine de la préfabrication, avec la construction des grands ensembles préfabriqués que sont la Cité du Champ-des-oiseaux à Bagneux et la Cité de la Muette à Drancy, Eugène Beaudouin et Marcel Lods figurent parmi les plus grands architectes des années 1930, et certainement les seuls à avoir osé s’ engager dans la modernité. C’ est donc une immersion au cœur des années 1930, dans l’ agence Beaudouin et Lods que propose cette exposition, dont l’ objectif est d’ expliquer les nombreux projets imaginés et réalisés par les deux architectes qui se sont intéressés à l’ habitat collectif, aux aéroclubs, aux équipements et à l’ urbanisme. From November 8, 2017 to June 24, 2018 Suresnes Museum of Urban and Social History puts the spotlight on the pioneering architectural duo that marked the inter-war period. Innovators in the prefabrication field, with the construction of large prefabricated housing, namely the City of the Champ-des-Birds in Bagneux and the City of Muette in Drancy, Eugène Beaudouin and Marcel Lods are among the greatest architects of the 1930’ s, and certainly the only ones to have dared to engage with modernity. This exhibition therefore is an immersion in the heart of the 1930s, in the agency Beaudouin and Lods, that aims to explain the several projects imagined and made by the two architects, who are interested in collective housing, flying clubs, equipment and urban planning.
