Peter Izurieta , President of Izurieta Fence Company , Inc ., grew up in the business , as his father started the company in 1978 under a different name and license number . “ My father would take me to fencing jobs on the weekends . As I got older , I got more interested in the trade itself – especially after I got into welding in high school , because welding is such an integral component of fencing .” Peter went on to technical school and got certified as a welder , bringing those skills into his work for the company .

Although the company ’ s original focus was residential work , Peter began to pursue commercial projects because of their greater technical complexity , higher profile and greater revenue potential . In 2008 , he incorporated and changed the company name . “ Going after commercial and public works projects presented a challenge , as it ’ s hard for a small business to get financing .”
Peter persevered and in 2015 , after meeting Michelle Quirante , Account Manager for the City of Los Angeles Contractor Development and Bonding Program ( CDABP ), he enrolled in the Program . “ We ’ ve
