MESSAGE FROM THE PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR
The City ’ s and Metro ’ s Contractor Development and Bonding Program strives to assist construction contractors with their contracting capacity and business growth . Over the past year , the global COVID-19 pandemic and our nation ’ s civil unrest has greatly impacted the construction industry – as a result , our program services have never been more vital .
In this issue , we provide an overview of some of our “ Navigating Contracting Opportunities ” outreach workshops featuring Los Angeles Councilmembers and special guests who have partnered with our Program to help inform contractors about available project opportunities .
Profiled in this issue are two contractors - KPA Constructors , Inc . and Green Garden , Inc . – who have participated in the Contractor Development and Bonding Program , taking advantage of the services and training we offer to help us grow their contracting capacity and expand their businesses .
We ’ re also proud to introduce our new “ Power-Up Marketing Series ,” launched in March of this year , and which has garnered considerable contractor participation . We specifically developed the series in response to the many requests we ’ ve received from program enrollees wanting more detailed assistance in increasing their company visibility with the goal of being awarded more contracts . The four-part training series explores the creation of a viable marketing plan through defining the strengths and weaknesses of one ’ s business , developing a marketing strategy , and marketing execution . The featured instructors brought nearly a century of combined experience in construction , contracting , and marketing industries .
As we navigate the rest of 2021 , the Contractor Development and Bonding Program will be announcing more support services and training for our contractors . The Program ’ s success in assisting local , small , minority and other underrepresented contractors would not be possible without the support of our sponsors , clients and partners , to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation .
