AN OVERVIEW OF RECENT COUNCIL DISTRICT OUTREACH WORKSHOPS
To explore and highlight contractor opportunities available both in the midst of the pandemic and during the recovery , Merriwether & Williams has been hosting a virtual outreach workshop series , “ Navigating City Contracting Opportunities .” The series
features distinguished guests and Councilmembers in a collaborative effort to increase economic opportunities for local , small , minority , women , and veteran contractors through participation in the City ’ s Contractor Development and Bonding Program ( CDABP ). One of the special guests supporting CDABP ’ s overarching objective was Amber Meshack , Los Angeles World Airports ( LAWA ) Director of Business , Jobs & Social Responsibility . In this session , she introduced District 8 Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson , who welcomed the 185 participants and discussed the City ’ s strong commitment to contracting with small and emerging businesses .

Panelists from different departments in the City of Los Angeles explored available bid opportunities in their respective departments , answering questions submitted by contractors before and during the webinar . Contractor Development and Bonding Program administrators Ingrid Merriwether and Field Support Project Manager Robert Lowery elaborated on the Program ’ s benefits , services and commitment to contractors looking to grow their businesses .
