CDABP OUTREACH WORKSHOPS WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS
“ Navigating City Contracting Opportunities ,” with Los Angeles City Councilmember Member Eunisses Hernandez
On July 11th , 2023 , Los Angeles City Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez and Merriwether & Williams Insurance Services ( MWIS ) co-hosted a “ Navigating City Contracting Opportunities ” workshop . This virtual event provided insights and information that encouraged contractors to explore and take advantage of opportunities related to the LA Regional Contractor Development and Bonding Program ( CDABP ), which is administered by MWIS .
Councilmember Hernandez , who represents District 1 , was passionate in encouraging attendees to leverage the CDABP to grow and expand their businesses . She said , “ We are excited to create new opportunities for contractors . We want to get work done quicker . We want to create more opportunities for our communities . This is the way to do it .”
The event featured several speakers from various Los Angeles city departments , including Los Angeles World Airports ( LAWA ), the LA Department of Water and Power ( LADWP ), the Bureau of Contract Administration ( BCA ), and the Port of Los Angeles ( POLA ). Each speaker provided insights into upcoming construction opportunities in their respective departments .
