From Pipe Dreams to Pipe Seams : Youman Welding ’ s Journey to Success
Back in 2010 , Los Angeles native Veronica Youman and her best friend were working as nighttime security guards while dreaming of creating better lives for themselves . “ I was considering going back to school when he suggested that I join him in taking a welding class ,” she recalls . “ Most of his family were welders , which was the draw for him . However , I wasn ’ t so sure that was for me , since I ’ d had no exposure to any construction trade , let alone welding .”
Despite her ambivalence , Veronica did enroll in the welding class , which meant that after
