Our “ Navigating Contracting Opportunities ” webinars are hosted by various County Supervisors and City Councilmembers as part of the Contractor and Development & Bonding Program ( CDABP ), sponsored by the County of Los Angeles , City of Los Angeles , and Los Angeles Metro . Workshops are tailored to businesses in need of bonding assistance and contractor development . Presenters offer information on upcoming projects , how to work with their agencies or departments , and the latest resources for small business contractors . Details about the CDABP and its resources are also provided .

On July 28 , 2002 , LA County Supervisor and Metro Board Member Holly J . Mitchell cohosted the “ Navigating LA County and Metro Contracting Opportunities ” webinar , aimed at raising awareness about the regional Contractor Development and Bonding Program ( CDABP ). Administered by event co-host Merriwether & Williams Insurance
Services ( MWIS ), the CDABP provides services to promote the development and growth of local small and diverse businesses .
Supervisor Mitchell , who represents District 2 , greeted attendees and commented that it is vital that the County perform outreach to the “ hardly-reached community .” She said ,
“ As you know , working with public agencies is a challenge . We are not called a bureaucracy for no reason , but this program is here to help contractors just like you break through those barriers .”
