as Professionally Designed Cabinets , a sole proprietorship . “ I didn ’ t have a lot of connections ,” notes Adam , “ but I did have a lot of confidence , so I looked up showrooms , asked if they needed a cabinet installer , and ended up installing in many high-end residences – even some homes owned by billionaires , installing in $ 60-to- $ 80-milliondollar penthouse suites and mansions .” Then , additional cabinet supply and installation work came in , with Adam working on five houses a month during a regional construction industry trend of transforming smaller , older homes in the area into 5,000-square foot “ mini-mansions .”
By 2016 , Adam was so busy that Beth joined him to help run the company . “ I have degrees in both criminology and event management ,” she explains , “ and although up to that point , my career had been in bridal gown sales and event management , I ’ d spent all my free time during the prior 10 years going to jobsites with Adam , helping install hardware and creating punch lists , as well as interacting with customers , so it was just natural for me to start running the office to free him up to be in the field , bidding and managing projects .
