MWIS also had an information table where attendees learned more about the LA Regional Contractor Development and Bonding Program ( CDABP ), which MWIS administers on behalf of the City of Los Angeles ( including LAWA ), LA Metro , and the County of Los Angeles .

On May 15 , LAWA hosted a Concessions Opportunities Outreach and Networking Event that drew more than 150 representatives from small and local businesses to the Proud Bird restaurant , located near LAX . Speakers included LAWA CEO John Ackerman , Board of Airport Commissioners President Karim Webb , representatives from LAWA ’ s Commercial Development unit and Business , Jobs , and Social Responsibility Division ( BJSR ).
Following the event , Kanel Arceno , special events coordinator , BJSR , LAWA , sent MWIS a note stating , “ BJSR can ’ t thank you enough for your team ’ s participation in LAWA ’ s Concession Opportunities at LAX Outreach and Networking Event . Presentations covered information about upcoming contracting opportunities for concessionaires and guest services . LAWA also communicated its commitment to diversity , equity , and inclusion ( DEI ) in contracting .
