Boboli Gardens:

Originally created at the behest of the Medici family who resided in Pitti Palace, these gardens are among the earliest examples of the Italian Garden which later inspired many European courts. Extending over acres and creating an open-air museum containing antique and Renaissance statues, ponds, lakes, grottoes and large fountains, it is easy to spend a whole sunny day wandering around its intricate design. The quietest time to visit Florence is from December – February.
