We asked six Italians studying here in Bristol what their favourite place in Italy is and why, then asked them to explain their choice in 100 words or less. Below are their responses.

Campo of the Ghetto Nuovo in Venice

I love Venice. Not the usual tourist areas. I don’t like crowds very much, and those places are extremely crowded. Rather, it is in the tiny alleys where you can still breathe the 15th century air, the wonderful palaces where endless banquets were held and the early 16th century Ghetto - home to the city’s Jewish community in the time of the Venetian Republic - which you should make sure to visit.
