United Standard was founded in 2015 by the art director Giorgio Di Salvo, and claims to unite, as the name suggests, ‘aesthetics and functionality.’ These are based on the masculinity of cars and machinery and the multifunctionality of their clothes being made in technical fabrics, characterized in their AW19 collection by mechanic jackets, lots of black and swirling, flame-like prints as is often seen in streetwear brands. Di Salvo is also an art director for Country of Milan and like Marcelo Burlon, pays homage to ‘90s culture, this time in the old internet style of his website.

Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo established Sunnei in 2013. The brand challenges the opulent Italian fashion world of dominating historical brands and expensive fabrics through the fashionable oversized fits and modern streetwear designs. The collections look timeless as they recognise traditional cuts and methods and their inspiration comes from the ideal ‘Sprezzatura,’ a studied nonchalance that makes all their pieces seem effortless and undoubtedly cool.
