I chose to do Italian because I've always loved languages and I wanted to try something different. I fell in love with Italy when I went there on holiday so I decided I wanted to learn more about the country and the language and I love it more now!

I chose Italian because it is a beautiful language and a beautiful place, which I am very much looking forward to living in next year. I also studied Latin at A level, which meant that I had a foundation for the language, since a lot of Italian words are derived from Latin. I also thought that it would be fun to learn a new language.

For me, choosing to study Italian was easy. Few places in the world can boast a combination of excellent food loved worldwide, stunning vistas and architecture such as Venice, and one of the most celebrated cultural histories the world has ever seen. So why not study Italian?
