Lise Derslerimiz / Our Classes in the High School
Lise Kütüphanemizde öğrencilerimizle gerçekleştirdiğimiz derslerimiz ile yıl sonunda hazırlayacakları ödev-
lerinin araştırma kısmına adım atmış olduk. Kütüphane kullanımını, aradıkları konu ile ilgili ya da bildikleri
bir kitabı kullandığımız sistemden nasıl araştıracaklarını ve “call number” dediğimiz sırt numarası ile
raflardan kitabı nasıl bulabileceklerini, aynı zamanda “elektronik kaynak kullanımı” dediğimiz veri taban-
larımızdan araştırmalarını nasıl yapacaklarını öğrenmiş oldular. İkinci dönemde kendilerinin belirleyecekleri
bir konu hakkında akademik bir araştırma yapmalarını isteyeceğimiz öğrencilerimize, üniversitede hazırlaya-
cakları tezleri için örnek bir çalışma yaptırmayı hedefliyoruz. Böylelikle tez hazırlama süreçlerini bir pilot
uygulama ile adım adım öğrenmiş olacaklar.
Kütüphane derslerimizde öğrendiğimiz "Dewey Onlu Sınıflama Sistemi" ve "Destiny Otomasyon Sistemi"
sayesinde öğrencilerimiz istedikleri kitapları sistemden kontrol edip kitapların kütüphanemizde bulunup
bulunmadığına baktılar, kütüphanede bulunanları raftan nasıl bulacaklarını öğrendiler. Kütüphanemizde
olmasını istedikleri kitapların ise bir listesini oluşturdular. Niteliksel ve niceliksel geliştirmeyi düşündüğümüz
lise kütüphanemizde artık öğrencilerimizin istedikleri kitaplar da raflarda yer alacak.
Yönergelerini erken bitiren öğrencilerimiz araştırma yapan diğer öğrencilerimize fon müziği bile yaptı. Tüm
öğrencilerimiz raflarda aradıkları kitapları bulunca hep birlikte sessiz okuma yaptık.
Through our classes with our students in the high school library we took a step towards working on the
research part of the assignments they are going to prepare at the end of the year. The students learned how to
make use of the library, find the book they know or about the topic they are looking for on the system that we
use, locate the book on the shelf using the code called “call number” on the book cover, and how to carry out
research on our databases that we call “electronic database”. In the second semester we will ask our students
to carry out an academic research on a topic they will choose and prepare a sample assignment that would look
like the thesis they will prepare in the university. This will help them learn the stages of preparing a thesis
through a pilot work.
In our library classes our students checked whether we have the books in our collection using the system with
the help of the Dewey Decimal Classification System and the Destiny Automation System and learned how to
locate the books that are available on the shelves. They created a list of the books they would like to have in
the library. The books that our students would like to see in the library will be available in our library which
we aim to develop both quality and quantity-wise.
Those students who completed following the instructions provided background music for the other students
who were carrying out research. When all students found the books they were looking for in the shelves, we
had a silent reading activity.
