................... WELCOME! T ime. It is the one thing that all of us are equally given each day. Parceled out in measurements of minutes and hours, it is what Benjamin Franklin called “the stuff of life.” It would seem that time forms the framework of all that we do. “It’s time to get up, it’s time to go to bed, it’s time to take the test, it’s time for dinner, it’s time for exercise, it’s time to go to work, it’s time for vacation.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 states the relationship of time and events in these words: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Steve Haley In Scripture, time is an important means by which President God communicates His celestial plans to His people: 2300 days/years, 70 weeks of years, 40 years are tied to events which reflected God’s desire to give us a home. A place where we belong. Since the organization of the church in 1865, Seventh-day Adventists have been observers of time. Our early pioneers were inspired to identify great important events throughout history which served as prophetic “mile markers.” Sign-posts in the journey from earth to heaven. The rise and fall of kingdoms, the emergence of Steve Rose Executive Secretary the papacy, the birth of this nation we call home, the final work of Christ in the Heavenly Sanctuary. Those “signs” are not only historical past-events, they are present everyday realities. Jesus reminds us that when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. (Matthew 24:33) As the old hymn says so well, “Signs of the times, are everywhere!... Keep your eyes upon the eastern sky, lift up your head, redemption draweth nigh!” Isn’t it a wonderful privilege to be alive and serving Christ today? Welcome to Camp Meeting; for NOW is Douglas Hilliard the time to live in readiness for the return of our God and our King! Treasurer 2 Steve Haley, President
