Laying Foundations
A
life worth living is a life
founded on a strong foundation which is our Lord
Jesus Christ.
Christ took it upon himself to come
to our rescue as human beings. It is
His plan and purpose that we should
prosper and succeed in all our aspects of life.
In all we do, we should allow Him to
guide and lead us, by this we are
bound to succeed. All our answers
for our spiritual success are in the
Word, which is our Lord Jesus Christ
of Nazareth himself. The word in Job
22: 21-22 say:
21
“Submit to God and be at
peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you.
22
Accept instruction from his
mouth and lay up his words in your
heart.
We read in 1 Corinthians 3: 10 – 17
about grace given to us and it provides insight to seven teachings: I.
Submission, which brings
peace in our hearts and
minds, and in this way we will
be at peace with the Lord,
which leads to prosperity.
II.
Accept instructions from His
mouth then meditate upon
His word and then do what
we are asked as James 1:22
says we should not be the
hearers of the word only but
we should be the doers as
well.
III.
Through God’s grace we
should lay the foundation and
build wisely, building with
care.
IV.
We should be aware that the
foundation has been laid already which is Jesus Christ
and is ours to capitalize on
what God has provided already.
V.
We should be considerate of
the material we are using in
laying the foundation because
this will to come to light when
storms come and more over
on the day of the coming of
our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ.
VI.
Tests would come even while
we are still laying the foundation, even on completing and
this test will come by fire to
see the quality of the work
done.
As we continue laying the foundation we are being informed by the
word of God again as to how we
should do it.
The book of Mathew 7: 24 – 27.
Highlights four (4) teachings which
indicate obedience is better than
sacrifice.
I.
When we obey and put the
word of God in practice there
will be rewards.
II.
We will be exercising wisdom
which we get from the word.
III.
Our house will be built on the
rock which is Christ and we
will be able to stand against
all odds in life.
IV.
Failing to obey, we will be like
a foolish man who built his
house on sand and when
storms of life came that man
is unable to stand and his fall
is great.
In conclusion we need to realise and
understand that our Father, God has
provided every necessary resource
for us to use for our wellbeing.
Hence, we find a word spoken by our
Lord Jesus Christ in Mathew 24:35:
35
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will never pass away.
Let us use these resources and be
grounded upon the firm foundation
which is the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth our Saviour.
