The man of God asked this question knowing
very well that all of us God has invested
something in our lives which we could use
for our wellbeing. From creation we read
that God said in Genesis 1:28 God blessed
them and said to them "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. . . .
2 Kings 4:1-7
NIV: 1. the wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your
servant my husband is dead, and you know
that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his
slaves.”
2 Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you?
Tell me, what do you have in your house?”
“Your servant has nothing there at all,” she
said, “except a small jar of olive oil.”
3 Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your
neighbours for empty jars. Don’t ask for just
a few. 4 Then go inside and shut the door
behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all
the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one
side.”
5 She left him and shut the door behind her
and her sons. They brought the jars to her
and she kept pouring. 6 When all the jars
were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”
But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then
the oil stopped flowing.
7 She went and told the man of God, and he
said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts.
You and your sons can live on what is left.”
I
“Take a step" and
use it for your
fulfilment.”
The woman and her sons took a leap of faith
after the word of the prophet and they were
able to generate wealth through their own
hands after believing the word and doing as
instructed.
We also see the grace and mercy of God in
operation in spite of what we might have
done to ourselves or to our families as it was
in this text. God has invested something in
your life, I encourage that you "Take a step"
and use it for your fulfilment.
When we are asked we need to listen and
obey. We read in 1 Samuel 15:22 Obedience
is better than sacrifice... It's in obedience
where we see the miracle of God. Obedience
n this text we read about a family whose
is the same as "Take it a step of faith". Re-
head has passed on. This man was a

ated debts like most us are and was eager to
pay it off but unfortunately the enemy which
is death attacked him. He passed on without

His wife, she then went to the prophet Elisha
with her plight. The man of God listened and
then asked her what she wants him to do,
also what does she have in the
house.
We find in the bible a few miracles happening as a result of people exercising their
faith.
