KWETB News from around the Schools & Centres Curragh Post Primary School The Curragh Post-Primary School choir sang at three major events over the month of December. They performed to a packed church at the Curragh Camp annual carol service on Tuesday 16th of December, entertained the residents of Oaklodge Nursing Home, Suncroft, on Thursday the 18th of December, and sang on behalf of St. Vincent DePaul in the Whitewater shopping centre in Newbridge on Friday the 19th of December. All three events were incredibly successful and the choir was praised highly by all in attendance. The school would like to acknowledge the effort and hard work of the school’s music teacher, Christine McEvoy and all of the students and teachers involved. We would also like to thank O’Brien’s sandwich company in the Whitewater for providing tea, coffee and hot chocolate to the choir and teachers and donating generously to St. Vincent DePaul. St. Kevin’s Community College St Kevin’s Community College staged its musical in November 2014 All Shook Up is a show which takes its audience through the wonderful music of the 1950’s.The drama is set in a sleepy Southern town and showcased the wonderful talent of all the lead characters This year’s show captivated its audience from the opening chords with a highly professional production. All the key elements of the show from wonderful sets, costumes, choreography and music clearly demonstrated the tremendous work from a huge team of staff and students. Bray Institue of Further Education Congratulation to BIFE’s class of 2013, who have successfully completed their B.A. (Hons) Degree in Dance in Bath Spa and Sunderland Universities. Last year all the class were accepted onto the final year of an honours degree course in Dance at a number of Universities in the UK. Katy Francesca Lankstead from Tipperary has now been offered a place on the masters course in Dance at Bath Spa University. For the past five years the dance industry has expanded offering employment in a wide area of employment: teaching, therapy, arts administration and performance.
