KWETB News from around the Schools & Centres Avondale Community College in Rathdrum Two budding entrepreneurs from Avondale Community College in Rathdrum represented KWETB at the Scifest National Final on 7 November 2014. Having qualified as the overall winners of the Carlow Institute of Technology Scifest in May 2014, Fifth Year students Mark Roche and Cormac Ward presented their project Be on Track with the BVD Pack alongside the winners from the other 14 Institutes of Technology in the country. Their research concerns the area of cow tagging and testing for the cow virus, Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD). All calves on Irish farms must be tagged and have a tissue sample removed and tested for BV \
