( n : gage ): Recruiters today are yet to fully embrace technology as a ‘ strategic asset ’ in talent acquisition . As someone who is comfortable with cutting edge technology like AI and Contextual / Semantic search , what is your take on how the landscape is evolving in this area ? What advice would you give recruitment professionals on acquiring the required skillsets in this space .
Indraneil Roy ( IR ): A typical recruitment process is designed to locate candidates for a job . All recruitment tools being widely used nowadays is predominantly identifying , screening and shortlisting from a Talent pool . In this scenario , the talent pool is restricted to candidates who will be active or at best “ fence sitters ” in the job market . The passive talent and more importantly the talent which will become active job seeker in the future are left out of these tools and processes .
It ’ s important that the jobs within your organization are made visible to a wide section of the talent pool and they are easily reachable for a candidate . A lot of submission come through Job postings and employee Referrals .
