VALENT INE GHOST
Tears in hidden smiles
Rage in staged-pecks
Dirty and tattered files
Bites on mended necks,
Broken hearts, healed skin
The flamboyant love is thin.
Like horrors of a failed state
Patches here, there, each date
Like terrors of the war-torn
Adults comprehend the born
Courtship and marriage
Coloured story, dyed page.
Distrust on sparkling beds
Lies, cheating, she weds
Paradisal home t hey live;
Strangers do assume
Actually a den, a hive
Troubles, all they consume.
The show of luxury
The battle of infidelity
The exchange of usury
The challenge of compatibility
The display of love
The reluctance to prove.
Ghost of saint Valentine
You, we must quarantine,
Return into the saint
For us not to faint,
Let this rain that showers
Nourish your gifts and flowers.
