Sierra Leone continues to experience tremendous transformation in its path to development under President Dr . Ernest Bai Koroma , who continues to steer the affairs of Sierra Leone after being re-elected for the second time . In his first term as President , Dr . Koroma mapped out his vision for Sierra Leone through his ‘ Agenda for Change ’, which produced positive results in areas of electricity generation , agriculture , infrastructure and some progress in other social delivery systems . Of course , there remains more work to be done .
In his second term the President has put forward his extended plan , a continuation of his Agenda for Change , which is ‘ The Agenda for Prosperity ’.
In his clarion call , the President has asked every Sierra Leonean and all stakeholders to join him to implement his Agenda for Prosperity , which he spelled out in his address at the State Opening of Parliament . We should all be active participants directly or indirectly in this process . What we do for our people in Sierra Leone , whether by helping to alleviate poverty , or improving education and health , all play a part in the development of Sierra Leone .
Sierra Leone is undergoing a catalytic metamorphosis . We have seen visible signs and achievements under President Ernest Bai Koroma in areas of infrastructure , energy , health , education and the economy . He has stated it over and over again his government ’ s commitment to bring back the glory of Sierra Leone and make it a prosperous nation . His promise to bring his government ’ s projects to fruition was carried out ; his promise to remove impediments and pave the
17 way for internationals investors and partners to unfreeze funds for development was done ; his commitment in his Agenda for Change to improve the lives of the people by transforming agriculture , energy , infrastructure , health and education are being implemented . Indeed , the government of President Ernest Bai Koroma is seen as a
government of action , visible achievement , and a government that emphasizes greater commitment to implement programs and projects for the common good of its people .
In order to implement the ‘ Agenda for Prosperity ’ of President Ernest Bai
Koroma , there is an urgent need for leaders of integrity , who are ready to join the President as the boat leaves the shores sailing to the horizon . All functionaries in government , public offices , the private sector , small scale businesses , and all Sierra Leoneans should remember that at this crucial and critical time of Sierra Leone ’ s development , it is not about position , or personal interest but credibility and production ; it is not the education we get , but the empowerment we give that makes a difference to others ; the contributions we make to change the lives of people ; and the provision of economic opportunities and empowerment to help improve our people ’ s standard of living . Remember as leader , government official , business person , private citizen , educator , and whatever position you hold in society ,
