2 KT PRAYER DIARY SUMMER 2017 Now Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of the roar of a heavy shower.” So Ahab went up to eat and drink. But Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he crouched down on the earth and put his face between his knees. 1 Kings 18:41-42 Our 20:20 Vision lays out what we want to be and also what goals we want to achieve by the end of the year 2020. The 20:20 vision is summed up in three words MATURE, MULTIPLY, MOBILISE. Through our cell ministry we are sowing kingdom seed into the life and culture of our great capital city of London. If we don’t sow the seeds of the gospel we will never have a harvest of souls and righteousness. Yet something else is also need- ed for seeds to bear fruit - an abundance of rain! There was plenty of seed in the ground during Elijah’s day but a drought meant that there hadn’t been a harvest for years. Elijah prophetically heard the coming roar of supernatural rain which would rapidly change the whole environment of the nation. Elijah told Ahab to strengthen himself in preparation for the outpouring, and then he began to pray. We also need to strengthen ourselves in preparation by daily feeding on the word of God and regularly drinking the living water of the Holy Spirit. Also more than ever before, like Elijah, we need to both to hear the roar of a heavy shower of the Spirit and intercede for it to come to pass. It may have been that if Elijah had not prayed the rain would have been delayed indefinitely. Let us not weaken in prayer holding back the promise of the Father for our city but press on until He comes. This prayer diary is an important prayer tool to release the power of God in a concentrated and targeted manner.
