Novozymes , with Novo Holdings ( and thus the Novo Nordisk Foundation ) as a controlling shareholder , and Chr . Hansen announced their merger . The transaction is one of the largest and most complex transactions between two Danish listed companies in terms of value and will create a Danish global industry leader . Completion of the merger is pending , among other things , final regulatory approval .
